What somatic practice is

The body
keeps a
record.

Somatic practice is a body-based approach to wellbeing. Where talking therapies work through thought and language, somatic work engages the body directly, through breath, touch, posture, and sensory environment, to support relaxation, body awareness, and a greater sense of ease.

What happens in a session

Structured,
private,
unhurried.

Sessions begin with a short conversation to orient the work. Depending on the approach, the session may involve guided breathwork, supported rest in a quiet, contained environment, or body-based techniques to support relaxation and awareness. There is no requirement to talk through personal history.

Who this is for

You have given
a great deal.
For a long time.

This practice serves women who have spent years giving to others: to families, careers, communities, or all three. Their bodies are quietly keeping the cost. Whatever your life has looked like, what sustained demand does to the body is the same.

About the practitioner

Meridian 1·2·1
was founded by a
British practitioner
based in Taipei.

He has spent over a decade working closely with individuals in demanding professional environments. He began his career coaching and managing teams, later working directly with senior executives.

During that time, he observed a consistent but often unspoken pattern: those who are most capable and dependable, particularly women, frequently carry sustained levels of pressure that are not outwardly visible. Not in crisis, but operating for extended periods without adequate rest.

This observation led him to develop a focus on body-based wellbeing support, centred on body awareness, rest, and developing a more sustainable sense of ease through structured, non-clinical sessions.

He holds a certificate in somatic practice and brings ten years of coaching experience to his work. His approach is informed by an understanding of the cumulative impact of responsibility, and how deliberate, body-based practices can support a return to greater ease and steadiness.

Meridian 1·2·1 works with a small number of clients. Every session is private and unhurried.

The first step
